Three of Mesa’s 55+ active adult communities share the Sunland name: Sunland Village, Sunland Village East, and Sunland Springs Village. As a result, buyers mix them up all the time. However, each is its own community with its own golf course, so we put all three Sunland golf courses side by side here to make the choice clear. Sunland Village Golf Club

First, the original Sunland Village, one of Mesa’s established 55+ active adult communities, wraps around an 18-hole executive course of about 3,623 yards (rating 56.5, slope 80). It’s an easy-walking, quick-playing layout right in the heart of the community, so Sunland golf course homes here put you steps from the first tee. Sunland Village East Golf Club
18-hole executive · par 62 · 2250 S Buttercup, Mesa
Next door, Sunland Village East plays to par 62 over two par-31 nines. It runs 3,621 yards from the white tees (58.7 / 89) and 3,235 from the red (57.1 / 85). Because it’s well kept, it’s a favorite, and it has a full clubhouse. Also, Fat Willy’s Family Sports Grill sits right next to the golf shop for breakfast, lunch, or a post-round happy hour.

Sunland Springs Golf Club
27 holes · three executive nines
Sunland Springs Village, the newest of the three, offers the most golf, because it has 27 holes across three nines. For example, there’s Four Peaks (par 31), San Tan (par 33), and Superstition, each named for the mountain range you aim at off the first tee. Meanwhile, executive-course specialist Jeff Hardin designed them, and the nines mix in water, bunkers, and mature trees. So you play any two of the three for an 18-hole round, and it’s the most variety of the three Sunland golf courses.

They’re close cousins, so in the end it often comes down to the community more than the golf. Sunland Village and Sunland Village East both have classic 18-hole, par-62 executive courses, so pick the one whose neighborhood, price, and homes fit you best. Do Mesa’s Sunland retirement communities have golf?
Yes. In fact, all three Sunland communities in Mesa are 55+ active adult communities built around their own golf course. Also, each course is executive length, so rounds are shorter and very walkable.
What’s the difference between Sunland Village and Sunland Village East?
They’re two separate 55+ communities in Mesa, but they have nearly twin golf courses: both are 18-hole, par-62 executive layouts around 3,620 yards. So the real differences are the neighborhoods, the homes, and the price points, and we can walk you through both.
Are the golf courses paid for by HOA dues?
No. Each Sunland course runs as its own golf club, separate from the community association, so your HOA dues don’t fund the course. Instead, the club handles green fees and memberships.
