Mission Royale, Casa Grande: 55+ Golf Course Community Guide

Planning a retirement move and want golf without Valley prices? Mission Royale in Casa Grande is a 55+ community built around its own 18-hole golf course, with newer single-level homes and some of the lowest dues in Arizona’s active adult market. Here’s our honest guide to Mission Royale homes for sale, fees, and golf.

Mission Royale Casa Grande is a 55+ active adult golf community in Pinal County, about halfway between Phoenix and Tucson. It was built from about 2003 to 2020 around the Mission Royale golf course, and every home is single-level, from the Concert Series plans. As a result, compared with the Valley, you often get a newer home, lower HOA fees, and a lower price for the same space.

Founder Jarl Kubat has spent 22+ years helping buyers and sellers in Arizona’s 55+ and retirement communities, across the West Valley and the East Valley, and the Casa Grande area too. He lives in Arizona Traditions in Surprise, so he knows what Valley 55+ living costs, and he can show you side by side what the drive south buys you. Above all, buyers love this community for the value, the golf, and the quiet. Right now it’s also a buyer’s market, with more homes for sale than are selling. So this guide gives you the straight story, from fees and golf to the Mission Royale homes for sale right now.

Yes. In short, Mission Royale is a 55+ active adult community, the kind of place many buyers mean by a Casa Grande retirement community. Under its recorded rules, every home must have at least one resident who is 55 or older, and that applies to tenants too. Kids and grandkids under 18 can visit, but they can’t stay more than three months in any 12-month period. Overall, that’s a friendly number for a community with its own golf course and clubhouse. In fact, the one-time closing cost here is one of the lowest on our Arizona 55+ HOA fees list. The Mission Royale golf course

If you’re searching for the Mission Royale golf course, here’s what you need to know. First, Mission Royale Golf Club is an 18-hole, par-72 championship course designed by Greg Nash, with a practice facility and the Mission Grille. However, it’s owned separately from the homeowners associations, so owning a home here doesn’t come with the right to play. Instead, you pay the club for golf, and the club sets its own memberships, rates, and tee-time rules. Of course, we can help you understand current rates and passes.

For example, the longest hole is the 602-yard par-5 12th. Also, gas and electric golf carts are allowed in the community, but only electric carts can go on the course. Comparing golf communities? See our golf course homes guide.

Pickleball at Mission Royale

The Mission Royale Pickleball Club plays on the community’s lighted, dedicated outdoor courts with permanent nets, and a club membership is required to play. At last check, a public court directory listed about six courts. So ask us for the current court count, dues, and open-play times, or visit the Mission Royale Pickleball Club. You can also see how the community compares on our Arizona 55+ pickleball communities hub.

The homes

Every one of the Mission Royale homes for sale is single-level, from the Concert Series plans named for music legends. For instance, most have two bedrooms plus a den, and the larger plans add a true third bedroom. Also, many were built with a golf-cart garage or a private courtyard. To compare them, see every model on our Mission Royale floor plans page.

A few rules to know: leases must be for the whole home and at least three months. Next, RVs, boats, and trailers can’t be parked at the home unless they fit in the garage. Finally, pets are welcome, on a leash and off the golf course.

Our honest take: who Mission Royale fits

It’s a great fit if you want a newer single-level home, golf out your door, and low fees at a price well below the Valley. Think it through if you want to be close to Phoenix-area family, airports, and big-city shopping every day, or you want a huge list of clubs and rec centers. In that case, we’ll show you Valley options side by side. Or, look at nearby Casa Grande choices like Pueblo Townhomes and Ironwood Village, or a bigger golf community down the road like Robson Ranch in Eloy.
