People search for Fountain Hills retirement communities because the town is quiet, scenic and close to Scottsdale. That’s a great reason to look here. Still, it helps to know what you’ll find. Founder Jarl Kubat has spent 22+ years helping buyers across the Valley’s 55+ market, so here’s the straight story.

Are there 55+ communities in Fountain Hills, AZ?

Not in the way most buyers picture them. Fountain Hills has no large, age-restricted community like Sun City or Sun Lakes. Instead, homes are spread across the hills, many on their own lots with big mountain views. As a result, many retirees here buy a view home, a home in a gated or golf community, or a 55+ home just outside town.

Fountain Hills homes by lifestyle

Most retirees here aren’t shopping for a retirement community. Instead, they want a certain way of living, like a gate, a golf course or a big view. So pick the style that fits you, and the listings will follow.

Gated communities

Homes inside gated neighborhoods. Also, some homes have a private gate of their own, so ask us if that matters to you.

Next, homes in golf communities. For example, FireRock Country Club is a gated golf community where you can buy a home on the course.

Here’s something many buyers don’t expect. In Fountain Hills, the lot and the view often matter more than the house. So some buyers purchase an older home for its view, then remodel or build new. If you’re open to that, tell us, and we’ll watch for the right lot.
